A habit I would like to change is checking my phone too often in the evening, especially when I am supposed to be relaxing or getting ready for bed. It usually starts with something harmless, such as replying to one message, but then I move between news, social media and random videos without really noticing. I think I developed it because my phone is always within reach and because short pieces of content make it very easy to keep scrolling.
The main problem is that twenty minutes can easily turn into an hour, which eats into the time I would otherwise spend reading or sleeping. It also makes it harder for me to switch off mentally because I am constantly moving from one small piece of information to another. I would like to replace that routine with something calmer, probably leaving my phone in another room for the last half hour before bed.
I do not think changing it would be impossible, but it would require consistency because the habit is linked to boredom as much as to genuine communication. For me, the hardest part would be breaking the automatic pattern, not finding a better activity to do instead.
