I strongly agree that schools should teach mental health awareness and coping skills because this would help young people manage pressure more effectively and seek support earlier.

One reason this education matters is that many adolescents experience stress, anxiety, or low self-esteem without understanding what they are going through. If schools teach students how to recognize symptoms, regulate emotions, and ask for help, minor problems may be less likely to develop into serious crises. Such lessons can also reduce stigma by making mental health discussion more normal and informed.

Some critics may argue that schools are already overburdened and that mental health should remain the responsibility of families or medical professionals. While specialist treatment clearly belongs to trained experts, schools still play a major preventive role. They are one of the few institutions that reach nearly all children on a regular basis, which makes them an ideal setting for basic awareness and early guidance.

In my opinion, mental health education should be treated as an essential part of modern schooling. It does not need to replace academic subjects, but it deserves structured time within the curriculum. A student who understands how to cope with stress is not only healthier, but also more capable of learning well.
